The Emswiller Interprofessional Symposium is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier interprofessional conference. Founded in 2012 after a gift from Carl and Jewell Emswiller, the Symposium brings together practitioners, faculty, and students from across the health professions to learn about collaboration in healthcare. Carl Emswiller was a pharmacist and innovator in interprofessional practice for over 30 years. As part of his legacy, the Symposium seeks to instill these values and this approach to practice for attendees from across healthcare.
Over 500 professionals and students from the fields of Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Social Work are invited to attend the Symposium. The Symposium is designed for anyone with an interest in increasing and improving interprofessional practice, and those who like to bridge traditional boundaries. We seek to create a forum for breaking down silos – the Symposium provides a venue for collaboration and building the relationships that can help improve the future of healthcare.
